What happens

Benches set up for chemistry, circuits, air pressure and one very loud thing involving a vacuum. Children work through them at their own pace with someone on hand at every bench, and take the results with them where the results survive the journey.

On the hour there is a bigger set-piece demonstration in the middle of the zone — the kind that needs a safety line and gets a crowd.

What to bring

Nothing — goggles and aprons are provided and required at the wet benches
Long hair tied back
Closed shoes for the wet benches

Good to know

Under-sixes are welcome with a parent alongside them at the dry benches
The zone is sponsored by Activate Genius, who supply the benches and the people running them
Some experiments go home in a jar. Consider where that jar will live
