Young Performing Artists (YPAs), Inc. is a Wildwood non-profit celebrating 28 years of arts-based youth development. Its stated mission is to identify and address the specialized needs of young visual and performing artists and to provide creative solutions to youth development, encouraging the young artists of today who will keep the arts of tomorrow alive. Programmes serve K-12 and include a touring band, the Day Of Stars showcase, artistic scholarships and summer, holiday and spring-break sessions. YPAs is also the lead agency for the historic preservation initiative of Royal, Florida - one of the state's oldest African American communities, formed in 1865 - running history, culture and heritage programming alongside the arts. Founder Beverly Steele received the Daughters of the American Revolution National Historic Preservation Award.
