About
Sumter County 4-H is the local youth development programme of Florida Cooperative Extension, part of the University of Florida IFAS. Florida 4-H has over 230,000 members within a national community of more than 6.5 million young people. The programme is open to all youth ages 5-18 as determined on September 1 of the programme year, and serves youth from all backgrounds and interests. The Bushnell office runs member clubs, volunteer training, and events and activities, alongside Extension's home garden, natural resources, family and consumer sciences and agriculture programme areas. 4-H is widely used by homeschool families and runs on a learn-by-doing, club-based model.
