The Backyard Classroom is an outdoor learning space in south-west Seminole County (Longwood / Altamonte Springs / Winter Springs area) where students discover the natural world and their place in it alongside peers. Offerings include semester classes in Backyard Biology, monthly enrichment classes and labs, organised into Early Elementary (5-8 year olds) and Upper Elementary (8-11 year olds) groups for the 2026-2027 year. The founder holds a Biology degree and a Master Gardening certification, with a background spanning veterinary care, a primate rescue center, zoo animal care and training, plant nursery work, and developing and running the outdoor classroom at a local preschool. She states she is passionate about facilitating children's discovery of the natural world, and also offers tutoring and garden consulting.
