A nature-based forest learning community running drop-off outdoor classes for children ages 5-12, Monday to Friday 9am-3pm, one or more days a week. In Broward the Fort Lauderdale program meets at the Bonnet House and Hugh Taylor Birch State Park; additional sites are in Deerfield/Coconut Creek and North Miami Beach. Curriculum emerges from the children's own curiosity, drawing on Waldorf, Reggio Emilia and Montessori practice. Take Root is not a private school, so families register separately as a home education program, through PEP/Step Up if eligible, or with an umbrella school.
