LyriCo Conservatory on SW 2nd Avenue in Gainesville teaches music, dance and acting to children, teens and adults, and runs a Homeschool Performing Arts Day every Monday from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM for homeschoolers aged 8 to 16. Students choose four classes for the semester: two large ensembles from choir, musical theatre and percussion ensemble, and two small groups from piano fundamentals, rock band fundamentals, dance fundamentals, acting and playwriting, creative music lab songwriting, vocal performance lab and violin ensemble. Small groups are kept to roughly five to ten students, drop-off is permitted, and the sixteen-week fall semester builds toward a December Performance and Party Day where the musical theatre group premieres a one-act musical. Students who start in the fall continue into a spring semester and Level 2. Tuition is $365 a month plus a one-time materials fee, and LyriCo is a Step Up direct provider. The conservatory also teaches private lessons in voice, piano, guitar, drums, bass, ukulele, woodwind, strings, music production and songwriting.
